Macrossan & Amiet Charitable Foundation

In appreciation to our Clients for their support over the last century, we commend the Foundation to the people of Mackay and surrounding districts and are greatly heartened by their acceptance of this initiative.

We thank the people of this district for their support over more than 100 years, and we pledge to maintain the high standards of this firm in the future.

Foundation History

On the 1st July, 1995, our firm celebrated its centenary. As a mark of its thanks to the people of Mackay and sign of respect for Fred MacNish, Vince Macrossan, Bill Amiet and Stan Amiet, and to perpetuate their memory, the 'Macrossan & Amiet Foundation' was announced.

In the time since its conception our firm has donated over $AUD140,000 to this Foundation.

  • $1089.00 Mackay Riding for Disabled Association Inc. (Reconstruction of the arena as it needs to be re-built and packed with sand. When it rains the present arena becomes unsafe and lessons have to be ceased at these times)
  • $1000.00 Sarina District Local Chaplaincy Committee (To be used towards the School Chaplaincy program whereby there is a Chaplain in the schools for at least two days per week)
  • $2517.35 St John Ambulance Australia (For completion of work to enclose the street front of their new building in Leisure Court)
  • $1500.00 St Vincents Community Services (To be contributed to the Alcohol and Drug Residential Treatment Program which will be operational in Mackay by the end of May, early June 2003. The program focuses on skills to reduce or stop alcohol and other drug use, prevent relapse to substance use, enhance self-esteem and improve fundamental living skills)
  • $1000.00 The Institute of Family & Community Life (To be contributed towards their counselling and support services in the wider Mackay community)

  • $2500.00 Madec (To purchase a special wheelchair "Aussie Beach Chair" to enable people who only have wheelchair ability access to the beach and bush)
  • $500.00 Pioneer Preschool and Kindergarten (To purchase playground equipment and to purchase "dramatic play equipment" (where children take on different roles))

  • $4,165.00 Variety Club of Queensland (To purchase a portable computer for the Marian Special Education Unit for students who are unable to speak to enable them to communicate with others)
