Stephen Willis

Trainee Solicitor

Stephen Willis joined Macrossan & Amiet Solicitors at the start of 2008 as a Trainee Solicitor.

He comes from a background of cattle grazing, having grown up on a large cattle station west of Chillagoe.

From there Stephen moved to Townsville, where he completed his high school education at the Cathedral School of St Anne and St James.

His studies then led him to James Cook University, in Townsville, where he completed his law degree in 2007. At the same time he gained valuable experience assisting at the Townsville Community Legal Centre.

Stephen then relocated to Mackay to take up the position of Trainee Solicitor and start his journey towards becoming a qualified Solicitor.

Stephen has already acted on behalf of a client in court and prides himself on his listening skills, his patience and his ability to stay positive no matter what the situation.

Stephen has always been attracted to the law enforcement aspect of being a Solicitor – he considered joining the police force at one point – and considers the application of justice to be an important motivator in his job.

He also loves the "satisfaction of finding an answer to a legal problem" and the variety of interesting cases he comes across.

When not at work, Stephen enjoys competing in both mixed social and men’s indoor soccer teams and has been a keen member of the Rebels Soccer Club.
