Reflections on the changing face of law and communication

By Kylie Davis

Kylie Davies, from Macrossan & Amiet’s Whitsunday office, reflects on the changing face of law and communication.

I was reading the Law Society’s monthly magazine the other day and they had an interesting story on young lawyers.

The article suggested that approximately two thirds of the legal profession consists of young lawyers (23-35 years of age).

Consequently, there has been a change in trend towards a lot of law firms’ approaches in dealing with their clients.

The trend is now that law firms are focusing more on generation Y-style areas of law, such as the ever changing area of employment law, technology law and in particular, law firms are now focusing on how to deliver services using the technology now readily available.

This is one of the primary reasons why Macrossan & Amiet have decided to take a fresh approach with their clients. Not only are our lawyers younger, but our clients are too.

I’m told that young people these days prefer online information, so for information about us you should check out our new website www.macamiet.com.au which has profiles of the firm’s lawyers.

There is also a link on the website where you can subscribe to our newsletter, which again utilises modern technology and brings communication with our clients into the modern era.
