Maggie Formosa
LLB – Solicitor
Maggie, the youngest of the Formosa family, has followed in the footsteps of her father, John and her brother, Paul in being admitted as a Solicitor and working with Macrossan and Amiet.
In 2017, during the final year of her high school education at Whitsunday Anglican School in Mackay, Maggie competed in Bond University’s High School Mooting Competition. It was while attending Bond’s campus on the Gold Coast that she decided to apply to the university and was subsequently awarded a Collegiate Partnership Scholarship. The accelerated program of three semesters per year at Bond resulted in Maggie completing her studies in a shorter timeframe, allowing her to enter the profession at a younger age.
Maggie commenced her employment with the firm in September 2020 after finishing just over two years of her undergraduate studies on campus at and completing her final six months via correspondence from Mackay due to Covid-19. After completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Maggie was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland on 14 June 2021.
In the 129-year history of our firm, Maggie is the youngest person who has completed the relevant practical legal training, as she only turned 21 just prior to her admission as a Solicitor.
Like her father and brother, Maggie enjoys fishing with her family on the weekends, but (thankfully) they do not rely on her to reel in dinner.
