Meet our Family Lawyers

Samantha Sticklan  |  LLB, Acc. Spec (Fam. Law) – Director

Samantha grew up in Northern NSW, relocating to Brisbane to attend boarding school and later obtaining her law degree at Griffith University. In 2004 Samantha relocated to Mackay to take up employment as an Articled Clerk.  Samantha was previously employed by another local practice for 14 years, during which time she was successful in obtaining recognition as an Accredited Family Law Specialist by the Qld Law Society.  She commenced with Macrossan & Amiet in February 2018.

Samantha is a mother and wife, and when not working keeps her stress levels at bay by taking part in a variety of physical pursuits. Samantha is an active member of the Mackay Community, currently volunteering with Artspace Mackay Foundation, the Mackay Community Legal Centre and the BMA Mackay Marina Run.

Charlotte Paterson  |  LLB, BJourn – Senior Associate

Charlotte is a Mackay local, born and raised.  She studied Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Journalism at QUT in Brisbane.  Since her admission in 2011, Charlotte has almost exclusively practised in all aspects of family law.  She has an appreciation of the challenges facing different clients and strives to achieve the best outcome possible for her clients.

Charlotte is happy to be back practicing in her hometown and looks forward to involving herself in the community including going to the Mackay Eisteddfod and the football.

Jessica Kay  |  LLB – Solicitor

Jessica was born in Bathurst, NSW and moved to Mackay at the age ten.  She then went on to study business and law at James Cook University in Townsville, but after a few years discovered her main passion and transferred her studies to focus solely on law.

On completing her degree and practical legal training on the Sunshine Coast, she returned to Mackay to be closer to her family and joined the team in March 2020 and was admitted in June 2020.

Jessica found her passion for family law while volunteering at Community Legal Centre and a Legal aid provider during her Bachelors degree and practical legal training.

Lucy Guye  |  LLB (Hons) – Solicitor

Lucy grew up on a dairy farm in Victoria until 13 years of age, when they moved to Bryon Bay.  She graduated with First Class honours from Bond University in 2020.  Following the completion of her Bachelor of Laws, Lucy moved to Mackay and started with Macrossan & Amiet in December.

After completion of her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Lucy was admitted as a Solicitor in June 2021.

Being new to the area, in her downtime Lucy enjoys exploring the region.
