Childhood victims of sexual abuse can now commence a claim for damages for personal injury no matter how long ago the sexual abuse occurred and can include circumstances where the victim’s claim was previously determined to be outside the limitation period.

The Queensland State Government are expected to introduced to the Queensland Parliament this month legislation to remove the statute of limitations for victims of childhood sexual abuse, which is expected to be passed into Law later this month.
