The Directors and Staff at Macrossan and Amiet would like to congratulate our very special client Mrs Beryl Ann Neilsen on her investiture on Tuesday 21 September 2021 at Government House Brisbane of her Order of Australia Award.
Beryl was presented with her award by his Excellency the Governor of Queensland Paul de Jersey at Government House Brisbane. She received her Order of Australia Medal in recognition of her charitable works in founding and supporting the John and Beryl Neilsen Winchester Foundation, which provides educational opportunities for country children by way of annual bursaries.
The Foundation has also been a platinum sponsor of the annual Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association of Queensland for numerous years and Beryl attends its annual conference wherever it is held in Queensland each year. This year she attended the conference at Cunnamulla, for the 50th year celebration of this Association in Queensland.
The Foundation also has for eight years supported country children attending the annual Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival at the Whitsunday Anglican School in Mackay. Over the eight years it has supported this literature festival, the Foundation has bought more than 3200 students and teachers to the festival.
Attending with Beryl on 21 September 2021 at Government House were Cliff Flor and his wife Heather and our Director John Formosa and his wife Kate. Cliff and John are Co-Directors of the Winchester Foundation with Beryl.
Once again, our congratulations to Beryl, she truly deserves this award.
