The Doyle’s Guide is an independent organisation that rates and recommends law firms based on interviews with clients, peers, and relevant industry bodies.

Damian Carroll | LLB, PRIArb3Med. – Director
Damian is a Mediator and Grade 3 Arbitrator accredited with the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia. He is also a Law Society Approved Mediator and Court approved Mediator and Case Appraiser.
Damian is the Chairman of Good Shepherd Lodge Limited, Vice President of the Mackay Branch of the Leukaemia Foundation, Life Member of the Leukaemia Foundation, Chairman of the Trustees for the Mackay Showgrounds, Committee Member of the Mackay Children’s Contact Service and the BMA Mackay Marina Run.
Damian Carroll is married to Barbara and they have two children, Lachlan and Emma. Damian’s outside interests include tennis and operating his small grazing property “Vonterry” at Pinevale.
Pat Carroll | LLB – Director
Pat was born in Mackay and has lived in Mackay all of his life apart from 4 years spent at Queensland University.
He commenced working at Macrossan & Amiet in 1976 as an Articled Clerk. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from University of Queensland on 21 April 1977 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland on 26 April 1978.
Pat is married with three children.
He has a keen interest in all sport and is a regular swimmer. He is a devout Cowboys supporter.
Samantha Sticklan | LLB, Acc. Spec (Fam. Law) – Senior Associate
Samantha grew up in Northern NSW, relocating to Brisbane to attend boarding school and later obtaining her law degree at Griffith University. In 2004 Samantha relocated to Mackay to take up employment as an Articled Clerk. Samantha was previously employed by another local practice for 14 years, during which time she was successful in obtaining recognition as an Accredited Family Law Specialist by the Qld Law Society. She commenced with Macrossan & Amiet in February 2018.
Samantha is a mother and wife, and when not working keeps her stress levels at bay by taking part in a variety of physical pursuits. Samantha is an active member of the Mackay Community, currently volunteering with Artspace Mackay Foundation, the Mackay Community Legal Centre and the BMA Mackay Marina Run.
