It is that time of year again when the Macrossan & Amiet Charitable Foundation will soon be considering applications for grants to assist registered charities in the Mackay and Whitsunday regions. I would like to remind potential applicants that submissions for grants need to be made by 30 June 2017. The applications will be considered by the Trustees of the Foundation in August 2017.
On the weekend, I read in the Courier Mail that some charities are spending up to 83% of donations to chase fundraising contributions. I am proud of the fact that the Macrossan & Amiet Charitable Foundation does not spend any of its income or capital on fundraising or any other unnecessary expenses. The Foundation is administered free of cost by the Directors of Macrossan & Amiet.
The Foundation has made many valuable contributions to the local Whitsunday and Mackay communities. In 2016 the Foundation distributed over $57,000.00 to the following charities:
- Anglicare
- Mackay Children’s Contact Service Inc
- Leukemia Foundation – Mackay & Whitsundays
- Kidney Support Network
- Qld Police Citizen Youth Welfare Association
- Volunteer Marine Rescue Whitsunday Inc
- Men’s Shed Airlie Beach
- Proserpine Senior Living
- Catherine’s College Proserpine
If you are involved in an organisation that is a registered charity then please do not hesitate to go to the Macrossan & Amiet Charitable Foundation page and make an application for a grant before the end of the month.
