Sinéad Butler

Sinéad was born and raised in Brisbane in a busy family of four children. During her senior year of schooling, she pursued an initial interest in the law by engaging in work-experience with a Barrister. It was during this placement that Sinéad became fascinated with our legal system and the court process.

Consequently, she was motivated to enroll in a double degree of a Bachelor of Laws/ Bachelor of Journalism at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

In her final year of study, Sinéad worked as a Bailiff and Administrative Officer in the Supreme and District Courts at Brisbane, carrying out various duties to facilitate legal processes in the registry, and in-court. In the same year, Sinéad was also selected to study in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of Murdoch University’s intensive International Human Rights Law program. There, she gained valuable insight into the diplomatic and legal considerations involved in public international laws.

Upon university graduation in 2014, Sinéad moved to Townsville to work as the Associate to his Honour Judge Durward SC. This unique position allowed Sinéad to learn the law from a completely different perspective as the assistant and confidante to his Honour. In the same year, Sinéad was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court at Brisbane.

Sinéad Butler started with Macrossan & Amiet in February 2015. In her spare time Sinéad enjoys swimming, keeping abreast of current affairs, and cooking. Her goal in 2015 is to complete a solo triathlon.
