Maggie, the youngest of the Formosa family, has followed in the footsteps of her father John and her brother Paul by joining the Macrossan and Amiet team as a Trainee Solicitor on 21 September 2020.
Paul and John Formosa are both Directors at Macrossan & Amiet. John commenced work at Macrossan & Amiet on 15 January 1979 and became a partner on 1 July 1989. Paul joined Macrossan & Amiet as a Trainee Solicitor on 13 December 2010 and became a Director/Shareholder on 1 July 2019.
After being exposed to the positive impact her father and brother were able to offer their clients, Maggie became interested in being able to provide the same support to members of the local community.
In 2017, during the final year of her high school education at Whitsunday Anglican School in Mackay, Maggie competed in Bond University’s High School Mooting Competition. It was while attending Bond’s campus on the Gold Coast that she decided to apply to the university and was subsequently awarded a Collegiate Partnership Scholarship. The accelerated program of three semesters per year at Bond resulted in Maggie completing her studies in a shorter timeframe, allowing her to enter the profession at a younger age.
Maggie recently completed her Bachelor of Laws and she will complete her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice over the next eight months whilst working at Macrossan and Amiet, which will then allow her to become admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court.
Like her father and brother, Maggie enjoys fishing with her family on the weekends, but (thankfully) they do not rely on her to reel in dinner.
