Macrossan & Amiet Director and Macrossan and Amiet Foundation Trustee, Andrew Telford, presented two cheques to Whitsunday recipients at the Cannonvale office of Macrossan & Amiet on Thursday 25 September 2014.
Tinirau and William Kamsteeg
Firstly, William Kamsteeg from the Whitsunday VMR was presented with an $800.00 cheque to assist in the purchase of new life jackets. Deanna Tinirau of the Bowen Neighbourhood Centre received a cheque for $2,000.00 to assist in the purchase of shelving for the Centre’s Bookstore which assists in funding the community soup kitchen operated by the Neighbourhood Centre.
Unfortunately, Cassandra Woodhouse from the Collinsville Communities Association was unable to attend to receive the Association’s cheque for $1,000.00 which will be sent by post. Mr Telford said that he enjoyed chatting to the recipients, and that he emphasised to them the need for more organisations within the Whitsunday area to apply to the Foundation for a grant, and encouraged both Mr Kamsteeg and Ms Tinirau to not be shy and to apply again for grants next year.
