Queensland Magistrates were granted power to Order the wearing of tracking devices as a condition of being released on bail as of 31 March 2018. Since the changes came into effect the local Magistrates Court has made at least one of these Orders.

A Bill to amend the Bail Act has passed Queensland Parliament. The amendments to the Bail Act come after several high profile domestic violence incidents.
